Chelsea have had multiple bids or Anthony Gordon turned down by Everton, the Merseyside club holding out for £60m/€71m, but a couple of Blues players could be used as makeweights.

Everton would like to take Conor Gallagher or Armando Borja on loan for the season if Gordon were to make the big-money move to Stamford Bridge, according to talkSPORT.

Gordon remained on the bench as Everton beat Feetwood Town 1-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening, but manager Frank Lampard insisted that was simply a precaution.

"Nothing more than when I did my press [conference] after Notts Forest and before - he's our player," he said when asked for an update on Gordon's situation.

Lampard: 'our player'

"Everyone knows there’s interest from Chelsea, it's very public now, but he's our player. It's as simple as that.

"The reason he was on the bench [is because] he had a bit of an issue with his heel after the game against Forest, we kept him out of it completely unless he was absolutely needed tonight, I didn't feel he was."

An England under-21 winger, Gordon made his Everton debut in December 2019 but really burst onto the scene last season, contributing four goals and two assists in 35 Premier League games.

While his attacking contributions have room to grow, the Liverpool-born youngster is a pressing machine, averaging 23 pressures and a league-high two blocks per game in 2021/22.

Gallagher spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he scored eight goals from midfield and forced himself into Gareth Southgate's England squad.

He has featured in each of Chelsea's three league games at the start of this season, and could see more playing time in West London with N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic injured.

Broja was on loan at Southampton last season, where he scored nine goals in 38 games across all competitions.
