Chucky Lozano to Man Utd? Why Ten Hag likes Mexico attacker
Manchester United are eager to add to their attacking options having seen a bid for Ajax winger Antony turned down earlier in the week, and they’ve now identified alternatives.
Erik ten Hag’s side have been looking to add to their quality in attack, targeting players such as Cody Gakpo, Matheus Cunha, Sasa Kaladjzic and more.
However, there’s a new target that has emerged in recent days and it’s one that the player himself would be open to, should the right offer emerge between now and the end of the transfer window.
That’s Napoli’s Mexican star Hirving Lozano, who has done well with the Serie A side in recent times, and finds the idea of a move to Old Trafford appealing.
Napoli could be tempted with big offer
Lozano is happy in Naples, having been there since 2019, but recently signed a new agent over the summer and there has been interest from him from other European sides in the months gone by.
Earlier this summer, it was reported that RB Leipzig were also keeping an eye on his situation, with a view of bringing him over to Germany, but no such move has materialized in this transfer window.
Napoli, too, would not consider selling the player unless a big offer comes in, and considering Manchester United’s desperation to bring in another attacking player, that could well happen in the final days of the window.

The Patronepei, too, have improved their attack and currently have the likes of Victor Osimhen, Gianluca Raspadori, Kvicha Kvaratshkelia, Giovanni Simeone and Matteo Politano on their books.
Whether that would make them more lenient with regards to the 27-year-old Lozano will be interesting to see, and it’s perhaps worth testing for United to see if it’s worth making an approach.
Lozano is well-regarded for his tenacity and energy – something Ten Hag would appreciate from his forwards – hence the interest in him.
Prior to Napoli, Lozano was at Dutch club PSV, which was his first club in Europe where he played for two years between 2017 and 2019, having joined from boyhood club Pachuca in Mexico.
