Revealed: The HUGE fee Atletico Madrid want for Man Utd target Cunha
Manchester United are interested in the signing of Atletico Madrid’s Matheus Cunha, as they hope to bolster their attacking line in the final weeks of the window.
The Red Devils have a problem in attack, with Anthony Martial and Cristiano Ronaldo being their only two senior options – the former has injury issues while the latter wants to leave the club.
They’ve targeted a host of forwards as a result, including the likes of Alvaro Morata and Sasa Kalajdzic, and Cunha emerged as a target in recent days.
The former RB Leipzig player only moved to Atletico Madrid last summer, but is open to a transfer this year as he looks to cement his place in the Brazil squad ahead of the World Cup this winter.
Atletico Madrid want big fee
Atletico Madrid have made it clear they will not negotiate a fee for the player, and that his release clause will have to be met if any club is to sign him.
It’s reported in Spain by journalist Ruben Aria that they are demanding a fee of around €100 million for the Brazilian, and that Diego Simeone is keen to keep him at the club beyond the transfer window.
The club have held direct talks with the player’s agents, but are yet to open a conversation about the transfer with Atletico Madrid.

Although Cunha isn’t the greatest goalscorer, he has a reputation for his energy and what he brings off the ball, which would work well in Erik ten Hag’s system at the club.
United also showed interest in another Atletico Madrid forward – Morata – but his upturn in form in recent weeks has invited the Spanish club to keep him.
With just two weeks remaining in the transfer window, Manchester United will have to move quick if they are to sign any new players this summer, and they are in urgent need for reinforcements.
