'All roads lead to Maguire!' - Twitter reacts to Koulibaly's meltdown vs Leeds
Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly endured a wretched afternoon on Sunday as the Blues went down 3-0 in a shock defeat to Leeds United.
The ex-Napoli man attracted great fanfare when after years of transfer links he finally left the Serie A club this summer in a move that set Chelsea back ...
Koulibaly even took the No. 26 jersey at Stamford Bridge, a statement of intent that he would be looking to follow in the footsteps of club great John Terry.
On the evidence of Sunday's game, though, the Senegal international still needs to adapt to the Premier League.
Leeds ran riot against a ragged Chelsea defence, hitting through Brenden Aaronson, Jack Harrison and Rodrigo Moreno to leave manager Jesse Marsch on top of the world.
The Blues, meanwhile, will want to put the game behind them as soon as possible, especially their new defender who was given a torrid time at the back by Aaronson in particular.
Perhaps the only consolation for Koulibaly was that the afternoon proved a short one, as he received his marching orders after 83 minutes for an inexplicable shirt tug which summed up the game for the struggling centre-back.

Maybe Kalidou Koulibaly is too tall for the Premier League.

Got to admire Koulibaly going 'F**k it, this game is over - I'm off, lads".
He's probably showered and on the bus and all by now.— Paddy Power (@paddypower) August 21, 2022
Koulibaly sent off for a tactical foul. Disaster match.

Chelsea, please don’t do to Koulibaly what you once did to Shevchenko

6 - Since the start of the 2017-18 season, Kalidou Koulibaly has been sent off six times in Serie A and the Premier League combined - the most of any player in the big-five European leagues in this time. Dismissed. pic.twitter.com/ZTnXN0qJyN

SS Koulibaly launched into his early bath by a fleet of tugboats after briefly running aground in the Thames estuary
