'His days may be numbered' - Man Utd fans call for Henderson after De Gea's Brentford howlers
We may be just two games into the Premier League season, but it is already looking like an uphill battle for Manchester United and in particular their beleaguered No. 1.
David de Gea was already under the spotlight after letting two goals past him in last week's opener against Brighton.
With Dean Henderson out on loan the Spaniard is United's only recognised frontline keeper going into 2022-23, and the pressure is mounting on him as the mistakes keep coming.
It took Brentford just 10 minutes to get on the scoresheet on Saturday when Josh Da Silva's speculative long-range effort somehow squeezed under De Gea's body and into the net.
And it only got worse from there for the shot-stopper, who minutes later let Mathias Jensen in with an awful attempt to play out from the back that left Christian Eriksen exposed.
Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo were also on target in the first half as United were ripped to pieces, going down 4-0 in the space of barely half an hour of play.
De Gea slammed on social media
United fans were quick to slam the two rapid blunders that threaten to condemn Erik ten Hag to another defeat at the start of his reign, while pointing out that the man who could challenge De Gea for his starting role is not even at the club.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: David de Gea sucks. #MUFC

This is a total disaster. #MUFC are an easy touch, inviting pressure then getting bullied.
No wonder Ten Hag is shaking his head.
De Gea said on tour he could pass out. Little evidence of that. Collective failure though. Maguire, Eriksen culpable at different moments too.— Laurie Whitwell (@lauriewhitwell) August 13, 2022
Defended him for too long, De Gea is done, that is absolutely disgraceful play, Eriksen at fault but De Gea needs to anticipate that pressure from the forwards, we're crumbling.

De Gea. You all deserve this, all. Dean Henderson should have been playing last season and would have been ready.

David de Gea threw the first one in, then gave his centre-back a hospital pass for the second.
With Dean Henderson loaned out - again - Tom Heaton is next in line.— Paul Hayward (@_PaulHayward) August 13, 2022
