FootballTransfers readers believe that Manchester United should get rid of Cristiano Ronaldo in the remaining days of the transfer window, after his transfer request two months ago.

There has been plenty of speculation over Ronaldo’s future in recent weeks, after the player made it clear he wanted to leave the club early in Erik ten Hag’s reign.

Ronaldo wishes to move to a club where he can regularly play Champions League football and compete for trophies in the final years of his career, which he feels is not possible if he stays at Old Trafford.

Manchester United’s start to the season – which included 2-1 and 4-0 defeats to Brighton and Brentford – will only have intensified his desire to move clubs.

Ronaldo’s behaviour and demeanor at the club has been criticized, and according to The Athletic, he has been away from team meals and is seen flapping his arms in training.

He was also spotted walking away from the travelling Manchester United support and seemed to ignore Ten Hag as he went to the dressing room after the defeat to Brentford.

So far, clubs such as Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have refused to sign Ronaldo, citing his age, tactical fit and the high cost of the operation, as the core reasons behind rejecting him.

It’s believed that only Atletico Madrid are interested in getting him, but the fans have taken against the idea, taking into account his Real Madrid past.

Ronaldo should leave Manchester United

Considering all that, we asked our followers on Twitter about what they think Manchester United should do about Ronaldo’s future in the remaining weeks of the window.

Only 27.6 percent of our followers believe the Red Devils should keep the Portuguese forward at the club beyond the summer transfer window.

The vast majority – 72.4 percent – said that Manchester United should let Ronaldo go, but even that may still be complicated as there may be no firm offer for him.

Despite being the club’s top scorer last season, there is a greater willingness to see Ronaldo leave if he doesn’t want to stay, and perhaps, it makes more sense that way for Ten Hag, despite the club’s willingness to see him stay.
