Man Utd dealt Casemiro blow ahead of crunch Liverpool clash
Manchester United fans will have to wait for their first glimpse of star signing Casemiro.
The Real Madrid idol will be charged with turning around fortunes at Old Trafford after the two giants agreed a deal worth €60 million plus €10 million in add-ons on Friday.
Casemiro will soon be unveiled at his new club, where he is expected to sign a four-year deal which will almost double his current wages.
United would surely love to have the midfielder in time for Monday, when Liverpool visit Old Trafford and will seek to impose a third consecutive Premier League defeat on Erik ten Hag's men.
Reverses to Brighton and Brentford have made getting something from the game absolutely essential, and the added midfield steel the Brazilian provides could have proved of great use for Ten Hag.
When will Casemiro make Man Utd bow?
Unfortunately for the manager, he will not be ready in time for the crunch encounter.
Casemiro will first have to be granted a UK visa and work permit, a process that will take some time, as well as undergo a medical at his new club.
The midfielder was never seriously expected to be ready to take on Liverpool, with Saturday's visit to Southampton in the Premier League perhaps a more realistic target once the paperwork of his lucrative transfer is completed.
He will then officially become United's fourth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Cristian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez.
United are also pushing hard for further attacking signings, possibly in the shape of Ajax star Antony, though PSV's Cody Gakpo has been mentioned as an alternative should Ajax's stiff asking price prove unreachable.
