Arsenal face competition from several Premier League clubs for the signature of Leicester City and Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The 25-year-old has been on the Gunners' radar for a while, with their interest stretching back to January this year, but Arsenal are yet to make an offer.

As a result, they may be caught out by another Premier League club, with Manchester United, West Ham and even Newcastle all expressing an interest in his services, as CBS reporter Ben Jacobs said in conversation with FootballTransfers.

Man Utd have been chasing the signature of Frenkie de Jong all summer, but the Dutchman has repeatedly stressed that he wishes to stay put at Camp Nou rather than move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have also reportedly agreed terms with Juventus for the transfer of Adrien Rabiot, although personal terms are still to be agreed.

Erik ten Hag's side remain interested in signing Tielemans, though, and could pounce if Arsenal aren't willing to put an official offer on the table.

That is the worry for Mikel Arteta, whose side are undecided whether signing Tielemans is the correct decision or not. As a result, they have remained on the fence, which could allow another team to swoop.

Man Utd, West Ham and Newcastle interested

"They [Arsenal] want to boost their midfield for sure even though [Fabio] Vieira is there and [Oleksandr] Zinchenko can play in midfield.

"Tielemans is a player that they've admired since January, so he's not to be discounted to Arsenal. But they may face competition and that may force their hand to decide earlier than they want to whether or not they're going to bid on Tielemans.

"Even though Arsenal know that Tielemans wants them, so if they bid they're confident of getting him, they won't necessarily have the narrative and the situation in their control if someone else bids. As long as nobody bids, Arsenal can just bide their time. If it gets to the point where more and more clubs circle, that's when Arsenal may be forced to make a decision."
