Manchester United have been linked with a move for several forwards as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the final weeks of the transfer window.

The Red Devils are depleted in attack, with Anthony Martial struggling with fitness, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo as their only available senior option, and he too wants to leave the club.

They’ve been scrambling for a new player, and with just days left in the window, it’ll be difficult to get a top name in, forcing them to look for a cheaper stop-gap option.

So, which four players could they target for Erik ten Hag’s team?

Sasa Kalajdzic

Manchester United have been linked to the Austrian forward in recent weeks, and Stuttgart have reportedly lined up a replacement in case he does leave.

Kalajdzic has impressed in recent seasons with Stuttgart, scoring 23 Bundesliga goals over the last two seasons for a side that struggled in the 2021/22 campaign.

Ten Hag likes forwards who can link up well with others and for a price of around £21 million, he’d make a sensible signing in the final weeks of the window.

Alvaro Morata

Morata’s last journey in the Premier League with Chelsea didn’t end well, but his reputation has improved in recent times after important moments with Juventus, Atletico Madrid and the Spanish national team.

He’s a good player to combine well with his team-mates and open up opportunities for others, and Untied have shown an interest in him recently.

The Spaniard is valued at around £29 million, and Atletico Madrid would be open to selling him to ease their financial issues.

Andre Silva

Silva’s name has rarely come up in conversation, but with Timo Werner making his return to RB Leipzig last week, it seems as though the German club would be open to offers.

The Portuguese hasn’t shown his best for Leipzig, but it’s clear there’s a good player in there having shone for Eintracht Frankfurt the season before in the Bundesliga.

Given the right support, he can excel, and at 26, there’s still a few years left in him – he’s reportedly valued at around £26 million as well.

Wissam Ben-Yedder

Ben-Yedder is the oldest player on this list, and it seems as though he’s linked to Manchester United every summer, only for a move to never happen.

The forward is now 32 and would serve as a stop-gap, probably until United are back in the market for another forward next summer.

He’d make a good signing in that regard, and at around £22 million, the deal could represent good value too and build up squad numbers for the season.
