Renan Lodi’s worth of €35 million is the highest of their whole squad, according to FootballTransfers' algorithm, as the Reds continue to make waves on the transfer market.

The full-back makes for the 18th signing that the Midlands giants have made - totalling their entire spending this window to €164m - an amount bettered only by Chelsea, who have spent €211m.

As FootballTransfers exclusively revealed, the 24-year-old has a season-long loan deal from Atletico, with an option to buy at the end for €30m.

A loan fee of €5m will be paid for the 15-time Brazil international, and the Reds have also reportedly secured an option to sign the defender permanently for €30m next summer, we understand.

Lodi joined Forest as he's in the hunt for game-time, with the player having ambitions of playing in the upcoming World Cup for Brazil.

Despite playing 29 games in La Liga last season, Lodi only managed to get 1181 minutes on the pitch.

Lodi new contract at Atletico

FootballTransfers can confirm that Lodi will be made available for the upcoming clash against Manchester City at the Etihad and he will be registering as an official player on Tuesday.

The defender is delighted to be with the Reds and has thoroughly enjoyed the first couple of days of training under Steve Cooper.

The hope is that he can excel as much as possible to make the grade for the Brazil national side.

We understand, too, that his signing a new deal - a contract of six years - with Madrid was 'normal' and has been purely done to make the possible permanent move to Forest more feasible for both sides in the future.

On his displays for his home nation, Lodi told FIFA.com: “I’m almost another striker! I have more freedom to attack with the Seleção. It’s not like this at my club. I really enjoy it. But with Tite, he asks me to get forward, yes, but to also always maintain my defensive responsibilities.”

Lodi continued: “I played for Atletico Paranaense at every youth level. I was always dreaming of being called up by the Seleção – at U-15, U-17, U-20 and senior level. Every time there were Selecao call-ups at youth level, I’d get my hopes up and be really sad when I wasn’t called up. But I always maintained my focus on turning professional with Atletico Paranaense and, if God wanted, reaching the senior Selecao.”
