Wesley Fofana furious about Harry Maguire-size fee
Wesley Fofana has been linked with a move to Chelsea from Leicester City and has already seen the Foxes reject two bids as they want a big fee for the defender.
Chelsea have spent big on their backline this summer, having already brought in Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella, and are looking to add more players to shore it up.
Fofana wishes to leave for Chelsea himself, and he sees it as a dream move, with the Blues being the club his idol, Didier Drogba, played for.
It’s reported that Fofana has been frustrated by how stern Leicester are being and is not keen on the idea of them wanting a world-record fee for a defender.
Leicester want world-record fee
Leicester were involved when the world-record fee was set – that was when they sold Harry Maguire to Manchester United for a £80 million in 2019.
The club have now set Fofana’s price-tag between £80-85 million and Chelsea have been in talks with them through intermediaries, hoping to get a deal wrapped up soon.

Chelsea’s previous offer was around £70 million, which was rejected by Leicester and that left Fofana annoyed, who felt the deal was fair and he told Brendan Rodgers that he wished to leave the club.
Leicester are reluctant to sell Fofana unless their value is met – they have no urgency to let go of the player and keep hold of him for a further season – they are also uncertain about finding a fair replacement this late in the window.
In addition to Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain were also interested in bringing the French defender to Paris, but were not prepared to meet Leicester’s valuation of the player.
Chelsea are the only club in the race for Fofana and see him as a priority signing for the remainder of the transfer window, and it’s likely they’ll have to pay way more than what they expected to if they are to get their man.
