Ronaldo's agent could help Liverpool sign Bellingham alternative

Liverpool are depleted in midfield and wish to invest heavily in that area in 2023, starting as early as the January transfer window as they wish to aid their squad.
The Reds already had the problem in the summer transfer window but refused to spend big, choosing to sign Arthur on loan from Juventus instead as a short-term fix.
According to some reports, they aren’t too happy with Arthur’s early impressions at the club and want to reinforce that area at the earliest possible opportunity – the January transfer window.
One of the players they are targeting is a newcomer to the Premier League: Wolverhampton’s Matheus Nunes, who only moved in the summer from Sporting.

According to UOL Sport, Nunes is one of Klopp’s preferred midfield targets but know that a deal will be difficult as Wolves spent big to get the player – securing him with a total package worth about €50 million.
Nunes was a target for Klopp and Liverpool even before he moved to Wolves and the Anfield club have been tracking his progress for several years before his big Premier League transfer.
Liverpool are hoping to get a favour from Jorge Mendes, though, who has a close relationship with Julian Ward, the Merseyside club’s transfer chief, which was improved by the transfer of Darwin Nunez from Benfica this summer.
Ward has good connections in Portuguese football, having worked in the country previously, hence why they’ve been targeting the market in recent months.

Other than Nunes, Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez is also a player admired by Liverpool following his impressive start to this season – he too only moved this summer from River Plate in a €10 million deal, excluding add-ons.
Liverpool’s primary midfield target is Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, who they hope to sign in 2023 – which is seen as the reason for their reserved spending this summer, compared to other league rivals.
The problem for the Liverpool is that neither he nor Fernandez will come cheap – both are valued at over €100 million by their respective clubs and it’ll be difficult to negotiate.
