The highly rated teenager is liked by an array of top English sides - as well as Real Madrid.

But despite reports in Spain suggesting that the midfielder had chosen Los Blancos, FootballTransfers understand that such a call has not been made and that the player will think about his next destination early next year.

Manchester City, who had eyes on Matheus Nunes over the summer, are keen on the former Birmingham City player, as are Liverpool - who we are told had meetings with the player’s representatives in their London HQ this year. Chelsea, and Manchester United are also keen on signing Bellingham, who is valued at €74 million by FootballTransfers.

In the Blues' case, they had been keeping tabs on Declan Rice, but now it appears that Bellingham is on their wishlist.

Man Utd failed in their quest to bring in Erik ten Hag’s number one target over the summer - Frenkie de Jong - and though that deal is not completely dead, Bellingham is seen as a viable option.

But despite the recent influx of reports linking Bellingham with a move - or indeed that he has chosen a club - we are told that, for now at least, the focus is very much with Dortmund and England’s World Cup campaign in Qatar.

Bellingham is being closely shielded by those around him and transfer speculation, though frenzied at present, is not reflective of how the player will treat the move from Dortmund when it does happen, almost certainly next year.

A big part to play will be just where the interested clubs are positioned come halfway through the season - and having Champions League football will almost certainly be a sticking point and a huge factor in the final choice that Bellingham makes in 2023.
