Revealed: Cristiano Ronaldo's last chance to escape Man Utd
Cristiano Ronaldo has a 'last chance' offer to leave Manchester United this summer despite Erik ten Hag insisting the veteran will remain at the club ahead of the transfer deadline.
A report in Spanish outlet Marca claims the player still has an option on the table from Napoli to join the Serie A outfit on loan.
Deadline Day: Every confirmed transfer around Europe
Ten Hag has been consistent in telling the media that Ronaldo would be staying at Old Trafford this summer and the United boss said the Portuguese international had accepted the decision.
But the latest report reveals that Napoli president Aureli De Laurentis is 'seduced' by the idea of having Ronaldo, while their coach Luciano Spaletti is said to believe that 'training Cristiano is something a coach would speak about for the rest of his life'.
Ronaldo has been desperate to leave Old Trafford this summer in search of Champions League football but has failed to attract significant offers from clubs in Europe.
Will Ronaldo leave United before the window closes?
United had been adamant that they would not sell their top scorer from last season, particularly without having a replacement lined up.
The club had wanted to sign a striker all summer but failed with a number of approaches and have not pursued any deals since agreeing to sign Antony.
There was talk from club officials over selling Ronaldo due to the club's disastrous start to the season which saw them lose their opening two games, with some figures believing his departure could lift the dressing room due to his negative aura around the training ground.

But the win over Liverpool coupled with the signing of Casemiro encouraged Ronaldo and he grew to accept his fate, particularly after prospective clubs ruled out a move for him.
With no replacements lined up and no substantial offers on the table, despite the new report, Ronaldo will almost certainly be a United player until January at least.
