Man Utd, Arsenal and the clubs Cody Gakpo could go to in January
Cody Gakpo has been impressing for PSV and the Netherlands as of late and is set to travel to the World Cup with the Dutch national team this winter.
The player was of interest to various clubs across England and Europe this past summer, but a move never materialized and he ended up staying at PSV for this season.
It was a part of PSV’s plan to sell him, and they could well do so in the January transfer window, especially if Gakpo has fine campaign away at the World Cup.
With that, which clubs could Gakpo join in the January transfer window?
Manchester United
Manchester United have long been linked with a move for Gakpo, with Erik ten Hag a big admirer of the player, who was named Dutch Footballer of the Season in 2021-22.
United ended up moving for Antony from Ajax, but Gakpo would still be a valuable option – the club need attacking players and are relatively thin in that area.
Given Ten Hag’s desire to sign from the Eredivisie and Gakpo’s obvious talent, this would be a shrewd signing in the coming transfer window.

Arsenal
Arsenal were in the market for a wide player in the summer transfer window, having been interested in players like Raphinha and Mykhaylo Mudryk.
There are suggestions that hunt will continue in the January transfer window, and they could turn to Gakpo in that regard, given he has played there in the past.
Gakpo would add a great level of versatility which would be welcomed in this Arsenal team, and would add to a fine roster of attacking talent.
Chelsea
Like Arsenal, Chelsea are also eager to add to their attacking talent having had a high turnover in that area over the summer transfer period.
The club have been willing to spend, with Todd Boehly willing to give his managers the best chance of success, and Gakpo may be their next big signing.
Adding Gakpo would give them the chance to experiment with a variety of attacking set-ups: the player can play on either wing and just behind the forward as well.
Leeds United
Leeds’ interest in the player was quite clear in the summer, and at one point, it seemed as though Gakpo was heading to the Yorkshire side.
Jesse Marsch is an admirer of the player and Leeds’ need to have more quality on the wing may encourage them to try to get this deal across the line.
Players like Raphinha have succeeded at Elland Road before moving on to bigger things, and Leeds could be a similar move for Gakpo.
