Manchester United have identified their next priority in the transfer market, as they wish to strengthen in future transfer windows to build a competitive squad.

The Red Devils already spent big this summer on the signings of six players including Antony, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Martin Dubravka on loan.

There are still other areas of the pitch to strengthen in, especially if they are to sell further players in future transfer windows that would see the squad be depleted.

Ten Hag has already admitted that he has been discussing future transfer plans with the clubs and is working on improving the squad in the coming months.

Manchester United have right back target

"We have many meetings — we have to improve the structures in and around the club," said Ten Hag recently. "And we will also look to the window in January or next summer already."

A right-back is marked as a priority for the upcoming transfer markets, with Ten Hag not particularly keen on the form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who’s attacking contribution isn’t much appreciated.

Diogo Dalot has adapted well to Ten Hag’s system, and his upturn in form has been appreciated by the coach, media and fans alike, who have praised his qualities.

Ten Hag would like to add more depth and competition: Ethan Laird is away on loan at Queens Park Rangers, while Wan-Bissaka could be sold as early as January.

The likes of Denzel Dumfries of Inter and Sergino Dest, now at Milan, were linked with the club in the past, but no moves were made for the players as United stuck with their options.

Other than a right-back, there are also other areas for United to improve including at forward, midfield and goalkeeper, and they could have more funds to spend depending on sales.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Donny van de Beek see their futures in doubt and their sales could raise important sums for the club for the transfer window.
