Tottenham could be 'held to ransom' over Chelsea and Bayern target Kane
Tottenham Hotspur need to tie Harry Kane down to a new contract now, according to former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich circling.
Kane will only have a year left to run on his Tottenham contract at the end of the current campaign, and with a winter World Cup this year, he will be even more in the shop window should he perform as expected with England.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a notoriously hard negotiator, and Spurs reportedly turned down a £127 million (€144.6m) bid from Manchester City for his services last summer.

The City ship may have sailed for Kane, with the English champions since signing Erling Haaland for €60m from Borussia Dortmund, who has now scored 11 goals from his first seven Premier League games, but interest in him remains.
Chelsea are lacking a natural No.9 having allowed Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner to leave for Inter Milan and RB Leipzig respectively this summer, while Bayern Munich have a significant gap in their attack following Robert Lewandowski's €50m move to Barcelona.
Levy will need to act fast if Tottenham are to secure Kane for the next few seasons, according to their former goalkeeper Robinson.
Robinson: 'needs addressed now'
"It's a situation that has to be addressed now," he told Football Insider. "They have to start contract talks with him now. There's no better time to start. Spurs haven't won or achieved anything yet but they're going places under Antonio Conte. They're competing at the top. I think now is the time to open contract talks. The club's in a decent situation.
"They need to look after themselves as well as the player. They can't afford to be held to ransom next summer when he has just 12 months left on his deal. The club simply have to start negotiations before the World Cup starts. The club is in a strong position to do so. Look at where they are in all competitions. The club's never been in a better position."
Tottenham are third in the Premier League and yet to lose a domestic game this game this season, while they are second in their Champions League group behind Sporting Lisbon but above Eintracht Frankfurt and Marseille.
Kane has scored six goals and assisted one more in seven league games, but is yet to open his account in Europe.
