Schjelderup is another Norwegian star coming through, in what is proving to be a fine crop of players coming through the country, and he’s at a club that has been well-renowned for developing young footballers.

The likes of Mohamed Kudus, Andreas Skov Olsen and Mikkel Damsgaard have all come through the Nordsjaelland system in recent years and clubs across Europe pay keen attention to the talent the Danish side possess.

The 18-year-old Schjelderup burst onto the scene this season, scoring five goals and providing one assist in 10 appearances for his club this season, but is yet to play for Norway’s senior team.

He has, however, featured for Norway’s U-21s and has the potential to impress in the coming years, with the expectation being that he’ll be with the senior team in the coming months.

Compared to Haaland, not only because of his nationality but also because of his attacking style, he is tipped for big things in the future and clubs across England and Europe and keeping tabs on his progression.

Sevilla made a bid for the player in the summer worth around £3.5 million, but that was quickly rejected by Nordsjaelland, who want around £17.5 million.

Other than Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund are also interested, while Italian giants Inter and Juventus are also looking to make a move in the future in a bid to land the future star.

Liverpool and Arsenal maintain the strongest interest, having watched him play several times, and will have to fork out a fairly big fee for Schjelderup, who has a contract at the Danish club until 2024.

Both clubs have a good record for developing youngsters in recent years, and he would particularly fit in well with the Gunners, who are building a youth-centred project.
