Cristiano Ronaldo demonstrated once again just what a man-child he is with his brutal snub of Gary Neville on Sunday.

Neville was working as a pundit in a live broadcast of Man Utd’s home game against West Ham at Old Trafford.

Neville was pitch-side previewing the game along with former Man Utd striker Louis Saha and ex-Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp.

Ronaldo entered the pitch for a pre-match warm-up. He ran over to the touchline where the three pundits were broadcasting.

Cristiano embraced and greeted first Saha and then Redknapp, before brutally snubbing Neville.

It is clear that the reason why he snubbed Neville was because of his former teammate’s quotes last week.

Neville commented last weekend that Ronaldo’s time at Man Utd was over and that he should be let go during the January transfer window.

This was in response to Ronaldo’s actions during the final minutes of Man Utd’s win over Tottenham last Wednesday.

Cristiano refused to come on as a substitute when summoned by manager Erik ten Hag before then walking down the tunnel before the match had even ended.

This resulted in him being banished from the squad for the 1-1 draw with Chelsea. He was reinstalled to the squad and team for the 3-0 Europa League win over Sheriff, scoring the third goal, on Thursday.

What did Neville say?

"There aren't many Manchester United fans who would now have Ronaldo in their starting eleven," Neville had stated.

"They are better without him - they score more goals without him and they win more points without him. Manchester United are a better team without him."

Ronaldo clearly didn’t take this well – and not for the first time this season he went out of his way to snub a pundit who had done their job in criticising him. Earlier this season, Ronaldo did the same to another Sky Sports pundit in Jamie Carragher.

“We are off the Christmas card list,” Neville smiled after Sunday’s snub by Ronaldo.

This incident on Sunday was all pre-conceived by Ronaldo. He didn’t just happen to pass the three pundits on his way to warming up. He will have known Neville was there and wanted to create controversy.

Once again, the 37-year-old had to make the story all about him. Just as he did when refusing to come on against Tottenham when a brilliant performance and result was overshadowed by his petulance.

On Sunday, regardless of what happens in Man Utd’s match against West Ham, this Ronaldo v Neville incident is all that anyone will talk about. It will dominate all the post-match headlines. And Ten Hag will inevitably be asked about it, even though he has made it clear he made it clear he is fed up of talking about Ronaldo.

It's like dealing with a spoiled baby.
