How much is Man Utd-target Kim Min-Jae’s release clause?
Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae has a release clause in his contract of €50 million that will come into effect in the summer of 2023.
The South Korea centre back signed for Napoli from Fenerbahce for €18m this summer as a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly, who left after eight years to join Chelsea.
Kim has been a revelation for Napoli so far, with the Partenopei barely missing the Senegalese star at all.
Standing at 6ft 4in, Kim is a physically imposing and aggressive defender who is excellent in the air and brave in the tackle.
His performances have earned him rave reviews and he was just named Serie A Player of the Month for September.
Naturally, his displays have led to interest from Europe’s very biggest clubs and there have been multiple reports that Manchester United are already interested in signing him in 2023.
The Red Devils are well-stocked at centre-back with Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. However, Maguire and Lindelof’s futures beyond this season are in doubt, while Varane has been very injury-prone.
Min-Jae has a minimum fee release clause in his contract that will be active at the end of the season, which will allow buying clubs to be able to buy him for just €50m.

The 25-year-old has formed a brilliant partnership with Amir Rrahmani to help the Neapolitans to the top of the Serie A table.
He has played in all but one of Napoli’s matches, even chipping in with two goals from his seven games.
Napoli are also top of their Champions League group after thrashing Liverpool 4-1 and Rangers 3-0.
He has won 44 caps for South Korea, scoring three goals and will play for his country at the World Cup in November.
