Man Utd to sign right-back in January: The latest
Manchester United will try to sign a new right-back in January, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag suggested during a post-match interview on Sunday that the club would look to buy at least one new full-back during the January transfer window.
"We need two good fullbacks [on the left and right] because we have a lot of games to come,” Ten Hag said following Sunday’s 1-0 win over West Ham at Old Trafford.

Romano has now confirmed that the plan is for Man Utd to sign a right-back when the new year comes.
Man Utd need to offload Wan-Bissaka
However, it will be dependent on United first offloading Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Wan-Bissaka is surplus to requirements and is not in Erik ten Hag’s plans. However, offloading him will not be easy as United failed to sell him or loan him out during the summer due to large wage demands.
If United do succeed in January, then they will buy a new right-back.
Diogo Dalot has been the first-choice at right-back this season and has largely performed well, including during the win over West Ham.
Dalot’s contract expires in 2024 (after the club option to extend his deal by a year is activated) and while United are happy for him to stay, they also are looking to upgrade him in terms of the first-team.
The Red Devils will face stiff competition from a number of clubs, however, with even Chelsea looking at raiding the transfer market.
Frimpong has not received any official approach from any side and his focus is solely at the moment focused on making the squad for the upcoming World Cup, but his camp is aware of the interest in him.
