Martial has rarely played this season as he has been out of action, but he got time on time on the pitch against the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City as a substitute and has done well.

He came on against Manchester City at the weekend and scored twice, one from the penalty spot, and was praised for his impact despite the 6-3 defeat for his club.

Now, he is considering his future options and wants assurances over his game time before signing a new contract with Manchester United anytime in the near future.

Martial wants assurances

Martial has had problems remaining consistent, which is why there have been doubts over his future, and he was even loaned out to Sevilla in the second half of last season.

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on his future at the club, amid talk about where he’ll be playing in the coming years.

“Some fans were surprised to see Cristiano Ronaldo staying on the bench for this game, and Martial preferred by Erik ten Hag, but it’s been the case for some time now that the new manager has been keen to give the Frenchman a chance to show what he can do,” Romano explained.

“Ten Hag has always been happy with Martial since some strong performances in July pre-season and he’s still considered an important player for the club.

“Of course, before progressing on a new contract, Martial wants to make sure to have enough game time and this will be the key point,” according to him.

So far this season, Marcus Rashford has been the first choice forward for the club, with Martial and Cristiano Ronaldo deputizing for him.
