Man Utd's Luke Shaw advised to follow Trippier's example and make Newcastle move
Luke Shaw has had a fine few weeks after regaining his place in Manchester United’s first-team, and has generally impressed with his performances.
The left-back started the season but was then dropped for new signing Tyrell Malacia, who arrived in the summer from Feyenoord.
Malacia did well in big wins over the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, but was then replaced by Shaw, who has come back well and has kept his spot in the team.
Now, however, there are some suggestions that Shaw should leave Manchester United as there are doubts over his role in Erik ten Hag’s starting eleven.
Shaw advised for Newcastle move
Shaw performed well in Manchester United’s most recent match against Newcastle United, but according to the BBC’s Noel Whelan, he should be looking for a move.
A transfer to Newcastle has been suggested, with Whelan believing he could have the same impact as Kieran Trippier, who left Atletico Madrid for the Magpies.
Whelan said: "It's one of the positions that Erik ten Hag is pondering over. He’s thinking about possibly signing another full-back, he doesn’t know who the best option is.

“I think with the way they did it with Trippier, bringing in that experience and quality – they’ll be happy to repeat that success. It’s down to the manager as well.
"I think if you get him playing under Eddie Howe, he’d become a better player. It’d be exciting, it makes sense – and having that kind of experience is invaluable for a club like Newcastle.”
Shaw has 18 months left of his current deal at Manchester United, and it was reported earlier in the season that the club would only be looking to extend deals based on player performances.
Ten Hag is going to rotate between Shaw and Malacia as he looks for the best fit for his side, and has two decent options to choose from.
