Scholes suggests Ten Hag should make "sacrifices" for Ronaldo at Man Utd

Erik ten Hag has been told he’s not made the same sacrifices as Alex Ferguson did in his time at Manchester United with regards to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo wanted to leave the club in the summer but was unable to earn a move to any other side in Europe, forcing him to remain at Old Trafford.
He’s now working under Ten Hag, who has always employed a high pressing system, something Ronaldo hasn’t done for much of his career, and is now feeling the effects of it.
Ronaldo is now at an impasse, rarely starting games for Manchester United, and could be set for a move in the January transfer window, with his club open to the idea.

Scholes highlights Ferguson sacrifice
Paul Scholes has now said that Ten Hag needs to make more sacrifices to integrate Ronaldo into the team, as Ferguson did the same in his tenure.
Speaking on BT Sport, the pundit said that Ten Hag should alter his philosophy for Ronaldo, using Wayne Rooney as an example from Ferguson’s days at the club.
Scholes said: "You’d get onto him a little bit, even if he [Ronaldo] didn’t press he gives you something which is the hardest thing to do in football and that’s score goals that win you games of football.
"Wayne Rooney in our team he got pushed to the left because he wouldn’t run back in our team. He ended up centre forward and that’s the sacrifice you give to your teammates to try and win games."

Scholes said this after watching Manchester United beat Omonia Nicosia 3-2 in the Europa League, where Ronaldo failed to score despite taking eight shots all game.
He has only scored once all season – a penalty against Sheriff Tiraspol – as Ten Hag has preferred Marcus Rashford as his primary option at centre forward.
Anthony Martial has also returned from injury and has done well, scoring three goals this week – all off the bench – and it could be said he is ahead of the Portuguese star in the Manchester United pecking order.
