Youssoufa Moukoko: Why Liverpool are ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona in transfer race
Liverpool are believed to be leading the race for Borussia Dortmund’s teenage sensation Youssoufa Moukoko, amid interest from several top clubs across Europe.
Moukoko broke onto the scene in 2020, becoming Borussia Dortmund’s youngest-ever player, making his debut just days after his 16th birthday.
Since then, he has been managed well and has been given more chances with the Borussia Dortmund first-team in this campaign, playing nine times and scoring three goals.

Now, there is interest in him from clubs abroad, with many ready to pounce on the fact that his contract runs out at the end of the season and he will become a free agent.
Moukoko of strong interest
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Liverpool are best-placed to sign the 17-year-old forward, beating off interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid in the hope of signing the player next year.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has been impressed by Moukoko’s performances over the course of this season and he wants to add more depth to his side with his signing, adding in a player who will get better in the future.

However, the race won’t be easy for Liverpool as other clubs will provide a stern test in the hope of signing him and along with the two Clasico rivals, Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping tabs on Moukoko’s progress.
Liverpool feel they have an ageing attacking line with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah getting older, and Sadio Mane having already left the club.
They have the likes of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, but want to add more depth and youthfulness to their options and Moukoko is the ideal fit for Liverpool in the current situation.
Barcelona are always focusing on signing the best young players possible while Real Madrid have been looking at younger talent in recent times, showing why Moukoko is such a wanted player.
