Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho has had a flying start to life at Old Trafford having made a mark and he scored his first goal on Thursday against Real Sociedad.

The 18-year-old has been highly-regarded at Old Trafford over the last few years and he has finally been getting first-team opportunities at the start of this season.

The goal in the Europa League was Manchester United’s reward for the faith they have shown in him and if he continues in this vein, he could establish himself as a regular.

That could spell trouble for some of the other first-team members, many of whom were big name signings and were hoping to make a mark of their own at Old Trafford.

Garnacho's rise could be a problem for some

The first player this could affect is Jadon Sancho, who has hardly hit the ground running in his time at Manchester United and generally struggled.

Sancho signed from Borussia Dortmund after long negotiations in 2021 but he has struggled to replicate the same form under any of the three managers he has had there.

There have been more questions about his future in recent times as performances under Erik ten Hag haven’t improved much either and he needs to improve soon or risk losing his place.

The other player is Facundo Pellistri – earlier in the week, his agent spoke about an exit after the World Cup and that is looking incredibly likely for the Uruguayan.

He signed on deadline day in 2020 and hasn’t played much in the first team, only taking on a few friendlies, meaning he isn’t too trusted for more opportunities.

Similarly, Amad Diallo hasn’t had much time on the pitch and has spent time away on loan having signed at the end of the 2020 window.

Garnacho’s rise could spell the end of his tenure at the club as well and the Argentine’s rise could be an issue for three players hoping to make it at Manchester United.
