Unsurprisingly, this has been a hot topic of conversation around the Netherlands camp and the 23-year-old, who is rated at €28.5 million by FootballTransfers, was asked about his future plans when he faced the press.
“At the moment I am a PSV player and the focus is on the Netherlands national team. We'll see what's going to happen. Things can go crazy in football, but as it stands now, I will still play at PSV after the winter. My agent knows me well, so he knows that I'm not working on a transfer right now," he said.

Gakpo happy with Premier League interest
Still, the attacker is happy to hear that Premier League clubs covet his name.
"My focus is on the World Cup, but it's always nice to hear stories like that," he added.
Gakpo was named as one of the potential World Cup stars at one of Louis van Gaal's previous press conferences.
“I did indeed hear it,” Gakpo said to the media present. “But I try not to think about that much. I try to do my best and help the team. The trainer is very demanding. He keeps trying to trigger me; to become a better player. I am very grateful to him for that.”
According to Voetbal International , Gakpo's management will talk to clubs of the calibre of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich after the World Cup.
PSV hope to receive at least €50m for their star player. Gakpo still has an ongoing contract in Eindhoven until mid-2026.
