Man Utd and Chelsea learn their Skriniar chances
Chelsea and Manchester United are set to be among the clubs left disappointed by Inter defender Milan Skriniar, according to reports from Italy.
Skriniar has been on the shortlist of numerous clubs over the course of the last six months, with speculation that he could leave the Nerazzurri fuelled by the fact that his contract with the club expires in June.
There has been intense interest from the Premier League, where the Blues have been most closely linked with the player, but Man Utd and Manchester City have also been associated with a potential move. Furthermore, PSG had eyed the defender to reinforce their backline.
REVEALED: The world's most valuable footballers
Skriniar, though, appears destined to commit his long-term future to Inter.
“I’m really confident and optimistic to reach an agreement with Skriniar over a new long-term contract. We’ll be in contact with his agents, and we hope to get it sealed in the next few weeks,” Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has said.
The Italian side are set to offer the Slovakia international centre-back a long-term contract and also the honour of the captaincy.

Why Skriniar won’t leave Inter
According to a report from Foot Mercato one of the major reasons that Skriniar won’t leave Inter is that his wife is attached to the city and the country. She has been pushing for the centre-back to remain where he is.
Skriniar, meanwhile, is also happy with Inter. Although the team is struggling a little domestically and would appear to have little chance reclaiming the Serie A title they won in 2020/21, they have reached the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
Furthermore, the package that Inter are offering is an attractive one. He will get a four-year deal worth around €7 million per year, which is lower than what was on offer at PSG, for example, but more than twice as much as he presently receives. It’s also the second biggest deal in Inter’s history behind only Romelu Lukaku.
Content with the terms on offer at Inter, Skriniar, therefore, has little need to leave for Chelsea, Man Utd or PSG.
