‘He has a big future’ – Should Man Utd keep Pellistri?
Facundo Pellistri has been a regular feature for Uruguay at this World Cup, having started the first group match against South Korea and coming off the bench in the second match against Portugal.
He has had some encouraging displays, showing directness on the wing and showing he deserves a first team chance at Manchester United.
Pellistri joined Manchester United in the summer of 2020 but is yet to play a competitive minute for the club and has also spent time away on loan at Alaves.
Now, there have been calls for him to get more chances in the Manchester United first team after some fine displays and he could well get that chance after the World Cup.
Fans impressed by Pellistri
It has been reported in the past that Pellistri would leave Manchester United after the World Cup and that his agent was looking for new clubs for a move.
However, his World Cup displays may consider Manchester United to change their stance, especially given that they are short on personnel in attack.
They have the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Antony and others, but will need more depth for the rest of the season as they look to build on an encouraging start to life under Erik ten Hag.
Some fans on Twitter have called for him to get more regular chances, believing he’d contribute more to their team than others, such as Anthony Elanga.
Hope ten hag is watching this lit boy pellistri👀👀👀

Facundo Pellistri has been very impressive for Uruguay tonight. Incredible he’s not yet played a minute for #MUFC yet but that could change.

Facundo Pellistri starts for Uruguay against South Korea 🙌
Bro hasn't started for Man Utd during his 2 1/2 years at the club...mad to think he's repping his country on the biggest stage.
Proof he deserves a chance at club level. Go on Facundo, smash it today. pic.twitter.com/1qpfUseJ6R— NXGN (@nxgn_football) November 24, 2022
Facundo Pellistri has been more of a direct threat in 5 mins than Liverpool’s £100m Darwin Núñez has been for the whole game.

They were impressed by his directness and confidence on the wing, especially after he came on as a substitute in Uruguay’s defeat against Portugal, which has put them on the brink of an exit.
Some are surprised he hasn’t yet played for the club, but if the fans get what they want, they’ll be greatly delighted, judging by how many on social media have taken to his cameos.
