PSG make Man Utd and Arsenal transfer target their ‘top priority’
PSG are ready to challenge the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to a report from France.
The Ligue 1 leaders are on the lookout for another forward player due to Kylian Mbappe’s preference to occupy a wide area, which has pushed another striker up their list of priorities.
And there are few more in-form players in Europe in that role than Osimhen this season, with the 23-year-old Nigeria international have scored nine times in 12 games across all competitions – including in each of his last four Serie A outings.

Having also shown this level of consistency in the 2021/22 campaign, in which he netted on 18 occasions, some of Europe’s leading clubs now have him positioned towards the top of their transfer shortlists.
Media Foot reports that PSG are now interested in the striker to such an extent that he is now the “priority” of sporting director Luis Campos.
But just how worried should Man Utd, who are now more heavily linked with two different players, and Arsenal be about the emergence of this new force in the Osimhen race?

Will PSG sign Osimhen?
Although he has previously played in France before, making his breakthrough with Lille, it is unclear if he would wish to return, particularly with the possibility of playing in the Premier League on the cards.
PSG’s wealth has made it easy for them to attract players from Serie A in the recent past, yet they announced in the summer that their “bling-bling” era is over. Given that Osimhen is likely to cost upwards of €100 million, would they really be interested in paying such a hefty price for him?
This may depend on the future of Lionel Messi, whose contract is up at the end of the season. The Argentina star is only expected to make a decision on his future after the World Cup, with a stay at PSG or a move to MLS with Inter Miami thought to be his two leading options at present.
Osimhen, meanwhile, will be going nowhere in January as Napoli are one of the form teams in the world right now. Top of Serie A and into the last 16 of the Champions League, the Serie A club will not want to give up a key player at this juncture of the season.
