Borussia Dortmund could be ready to sell Youssoufa Moukoko for just €30 million in January with the wonderkid's contract expiring in June. Man Utd and Liverpool are on high alert.

Moukoko is the youngest player ever to play in Germany's top flight, having made his Bundesliga debut for Dortmund just a day after turning 16 in December 2020, and just a year later he has already blossomed into one of the deadliest players in the league.

Moukoko has six goals and four assists from 14 Bundesliga games this season, seeing off the challenge of Anthony Modeste - a prolific Bundesliga striker signed from Cologne this summer - and has made Germany's World Cup squad for the upcoming Finals tournament in Qatar.

"Youssoufa's just on a fantastic path of development," said Germany manager Hansi Flick. "He's quick, lively and has a great shot. We're looking forward to seeing him. We have a lot of attackers who can play in several positions."

Moukoko is one of those, happy to lead the line but also able to play off a target man - as he did with Erling Haaland at Dortmund last season. That Dortmund have taken their eye off the ball with his contract is unlike them, but they now risk losing him on a free next summer.

Hence the currency in SportBild's recent report that they would rather cash in to the tune of €30m in January. With a good World Cup under his belt, it's a fee they could comfortably achieve, but one that would also represent value for a potential suitor.

How good is Moukoko?

Cameroon-born, it would be lazy to attribute Moukoko's rise to his physical attributes, even if he boasts respectable speed and strength. What really makes him stand out is his technique and ability to read the game, though.

A left-footer with a low centre of gravity, Moukoko regularly finds pockets of space that others would miss, and the exciting thing for potential suitors is that he still has a lot of room to grow, both physically and as an all-round attacking asset.
