Chelsea and Liverpool target set for contract extension
United States’ Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah is attracting interest from Premier League sides Chelsea and Liverpool in recent weeks.
The former Arsenal scholar has shone for the La Liga sides in recent times and was even part of the United States’ squad that played at the World Cup in Qatar this year.
He was born in New York but played his football in Italy and England growing up before moving to Spain where has broken through with Valencia over the last few years.

Now, Liverpool and Chelsea are among the Premier League clubs looking to sign him up in the near future but they may have to pay a steep fee to secure his services.
Interest high in Musah
Musah has a long contract at Valencia, running until the summer of 2026, and there is a €100 million release clause in his deal, which the Spanish club want to improve, according to 90 Min.
Liverpool are particularly interested in Musah signature, given their need for midfield reinforcements as their current options are either ageing or suffering with fitness issues.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking to sign midfielders for the future as the likes of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante may leave the club upon the expiry of their contracts at the end of the season.
Musah joined Valencia from Arsenal in 2019 after refusing a new contract that year, hoping to get more first team opportunities elsewhere and he’s got just that at the Mestalla.

This year, under the tutelage of former midfielder Gennaro Gattusso, he has excelled as his dominant skill-set is much appreciated by the manager and he is excelling.
His World Cup displays in the United States’ run to the last 16 would’ve caught the eye of a few and raised interest in the 20-year-old as his country crashed out after the defeat to the Netherlands on Saturday.
