Enzo Fernandez is one of the most in-demand players in world football at the minute after a series of impressive displays at the World Cup.

The Argentine star was already touted for big things having had a fine start to the season at Benfica and making a huge name for himself at River Plate.

At the World Cup, he was named the tournament’s best young player, and that has only raised the interest in him over the last few days.

So, which clubs are looking at making a move for him?

Liverpool

Liverpool are eager to improve their midfield and have targeted a host of names, with Jude Bellingham and Fernandez being the top names.

They’re willing to spend big, and if they can’t get Bellingham, Fernandez is their alternative but they will face serious competition if they are to sign him.

Additionally, a move for January is difficult and they will have to match his €120 million release clause if they are to sign him in the winter.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid’s situation is quite similar to Liverpool’s: they too are interested in Bellingham and Fernandez and will make a move for one.

They are often known to make transfers for players who perform well at World Cups and Fernandez could be the next one in line.

Like Liverpool, they are willing to spend big and could meet the release clause for Fernandez next year.

Manchester United

Manchester United need a player who can progress the ball and Fernandez fits that billing, with interest in him going to pre-World Cup times.

It was believed they were tracking Fernandez when he was at River Plate and continued that into the current season with Benfica.

Erik ten Hag’s side are still keeping tabs on the player and he could be the star midfielder they require for the long run.

Paris Saint-Germain

PSG have the financial capability to pull off a deal for Fernandez and may be tempted to in order to beat the competition from others.

The only issue is the competition within their squad: they spent plenty on their midfield over the last summer and may not require another player.

Of all the clubs interested, it could be argued that PSG are the ones most likely to make a deal happen in January, though, given their financial might.
