Man Utd planning Dumfries deal with audacious swap

Denzel Dumfries has been doing well at Inter and with the Netherlands at the World Cup and interest in him is still high from various clubs.

Dumfries had a starring role in his country’s win over the United States in the last 16 and is hoping to go far in the World Cup and continue is good form in the tournament.

At club level, there have been suggestions that Inter would be willing to sell him on in later transfer windows to make up for their financial issues.

Now, Manchester United might be a possible option and there have been suggestions of an audacious swap deal involving Diogo Dalot.

Manchester United and manager Erik ten Hag have been eager to get in a new right-back at the club and Dumfries has been one of the top targets.

The Red Devils were interested in him in 2021 as well, but he ended up moving to Inter instead and has done well in his time at the San Siro since he moved to the Nerazzurri.

They do still want a right-back to add to their squad depth and quality and Dumfries is still an option that is being considered, with a swap deal considered.

Dalot is in the final months of his contract at the club and a contract extension is yet to be agreed, despite being a first-choice member of the first team.

Dumfries is valued at around €60 million and Manchester United are keen to bring that price tag down, and are willing to offer Dalot in a deal, according to FC Inter News.

Ideally, Manchester United would not want to lose Dalot and second-choice right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka at the same time and will want to make a deal where they can add Dumfries to their ranks without losing anyone.
