Manchester United have been told to leave behind any prospect of signing Tyler Adams from Leeds United when the January transfer window rolls around.

The American moved to Leeds United from RB Leipzig over the summer and has settled into life at Elland Road quite well despite only being there a few months.

Adams has been crucial to Leeds’ form under Jesse Marsch and the coach sees him as an integral part of the first-team set-up, which is why he was keen to sign him.

Now, the defensive midfielder is attracting interest from various clubs across Europe but a move for him will be quite difficult to complete.

Adams move unlikely

Serie A sides like Inter and Fiorentina are interested in the player but are unlikely to make a move for him in the near future, leaving Manchester United as the most likely destination.

Manchester United have been looking for improvements in midfield and Adams is a possibility, with the club impressed by his defensive tendencies and growth over the years.

He has caught manager Erik ten Hag’s eye over the last few months, and there was a belief that he would be open to a move away should the right opportunity arise.

However, Team Talk suggest Leeds have no intention of letting go of Adams, who is also the captain of the United States men’s national team and led them at the World Cup in Qatar this year.

Adams has a contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2027, which is why they are relaxed and they are in a good negotiating position if they do consider selling him at some point.

Where Adams goes to or whether he decides to stay at the club remains to be seen, but what’s clear is that there is interest in his talents and a move can’t be ruled out.
