10 players who could join Tottenham in January
Tottenham made a superb start to the season, hanging on to the coattails of Arsenal and Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
But Antonio Conte's side have since fallen off and now find themselves embroiled in a battle for a top four spot.
Newcastle and Manchester United have looked really good of late, and Liverpool and Chelsea can be expected to improve, so Tottenham made need some additions to get over the line.

But who might Spurs bring in? Football Transfers looks at 10 of the most likely…
Top Tottenham transfer targets for January 2023
Andreas Skov Olsen
Spurs scouts were watching Andreas Skov Olsen at the World Cup in Qatar. Whilst Denmark disappointed, their interest is unlikely to have cooled. Skov Olsen top scored with five goals and three assists in qualifying, and remains relatively under the radar playing his club football in Belgium with Brugge. A wide attacker who provides ample cover for the wantaway Lucas Moura.
Edouard Mendy
While Hugo Lloris is held in almost Kane-like regard at Tottenham, there is no escaping the fact that the Frenchman turns 36 this month and a younger alternative might soon be needed. Edouard Mendy kept a record nine clean sheets as Chelsea won the Champions League in 2021, but has fallen out of favour with Thomas Tuchel and Petr Cech no longer around. A move across London could be on the cards.
Hakim Ziyech
Another player whose Chelsea days are numbered, Hakim Ziyech had an incredible World Cup, with a wondergoal and an assist helping Morocco top a group which also contained Croatia and Belgium. Also linked with AC Milan, but could be tempted to stay in London if Spurs promise him increased playing time.

Denzel Dumfries
Another who had an excellent tournament in Qatar, Denzel Dumfries scored two and assisted one more as the Netherlands booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over the USA. His form has dipped at Inter Milan, but he was previously trusted there by Antonio Conte.
David Raya
Tottenham have been linked with a number of goalkeepers, from Diogo Costa to Jordan Pickford, but David Raya might be a more likely arrival. The Brentford shot-stopper has made the most saves in the Premier League this term with 79.
Marcus Thuram
Part of France's World Cup squad, Marcus Thuram is beginning to outgrow his surroundings at Borussia Monchengladbach. Has 13 goals and four assists in 17 games for Gladbach this season, and could be the perfect replacement for Richarlison - able to play up top or wide left - should the Brazilian indeed be spirited away to Madrid.

Yannick Carrasco
Conte loves a wing-back, see: Dumfries and Ivan Perisic at Inter, the latter of whom followed him to Tottenham last summer. Yannick Carrasco is available as competition to Ivan Perisic with Atletico Madrid having run into financial trouble.
Marcus Edwards
Marcus Edwards spent 18 years at Tottenham before leaving for Vitoria Guimaraes in 2019, and made the step up to Sporting Lisbon little more than two years later. Scored against Spurs in the Champions League October and would love to return. "It's home, so of course I want to come back there one day," he said at the time. "I just focus on what I'm doing here for now."
Mohammed Kudus
Mohammed Kudus is in higher demand now than when Tottenham first scouted him, having scored four goals in six Champions League games with Ajax this season before netting twice for Ghana at the World Cup. Liverpool and even Real Madrid are reportedly interested, but White Hart Lane has proved a good next step for many like him.
Piero Hincapie
Last, but no means least, is Piero Hincapie. Tottenham are in the market for a left-footed centre-back with Clement Lenglet only a loan solution from Barcelona, and Bayer Leverkusen's young Ecuadorean should cost significantly less than Croatia man Josko Gvardiol, who is wanted by Real Madrid.
