Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are all interested in the 18-year-old, who made history in November when he became Germany’s youngest-ever player at a World Cup finals tournament

Moukoko’s scoring exploits for Dortmund’s young teams have been renowned for years, but few would have predicted the manner in which he has exploded into the first team. In 59 appearances, he has scored 11 goals, while this term he has found the net six times in 14 Bundesliga matches, laying on another four assists in the process.

Unsurprisingly, a string of clubs are lining up to sign a player who has already gone some way to filling the boots of Erling Haaland - and that means they are seeking an edge.

Chelsea believe that they can beat Man Utd and Liverpool to the player by offering one simple incentive to him – the opportunity to go straight into the first team.

Moukoko has grown used to being in the starting XI at Dortmund over the course of the season, particularly in the league, where he has feature from the start of games regularly.

The Times reports that this is important to the teenager, who does not want to go to a club to simply play a bit-part role in the team.

The indications are that Chelsea are prepared to fast-track him into the starting XI, with the club having struggled to find a regular scorer this season.

Meanwhile, Moukoko is out of contract in the summer of 2023, meaning that he can negotiate terms with foreign clubs as of 1 January.

He has already rejected one offer from BVB but the belief in Germany is that he will ultimately agree to a new deal and will not depart as a free agent.

Nevertheless, Chelsea and the other Premier League suitors will be holding out hope of landing Moukoko at a bargain price this summer.
