Chelsea-target Noni Madueke’s worrying injury record
Chelsea are interested in a move for PSV’s English winger Noni Madueke as they look to strengthen their attacking ranks in upcoming transfer windows.
The Blues have been chasing more attacking players to their squad despite already signing Mykhailo Mudryk in this window and Madueke is seen as a top target.
The English winger has been playing with PSV in the Netherlands since 2019 having previously been at the academies of Crystal Palace and Tottenham in England.

However, given his injury history, it may not be the best move for them, especially given their own injury problems over the course of this season.
Madueke has injury concerns
Madueke has missed 54 games of football due to injury since joining PSV in 2019 – a massive amount for a winger of his age.
His injury problems in 2022 were a major concern as he missed 22 matches over the course of the year with an ankle problem that kept him out for a prolonged period of time.

He has been missing several months of seasons and that hasn’t allowed him to hit his full potential over the last few years, which has proven to be a concern in his development.
Chelsea’s injury issues have been well documented over the course of this campaign, with key players such as N’Golo Kante and Jorginho missing large parts of the season, affecting their form.
Given the fee that is quoted for him – about €40 million – the Blues would be better of investing elsewhere for more consistent first team options that have a better injury record.
They have enough attacking talent in their squad, and players out on loan such as Callum Hudson-Odoi at Bayer Leverkusen that would probably fit them better anyways.
Whether they move for Madueke remains to be seen but the winger’s fitness record is something to be vary of if they are to sign him.
