Chelsea eye RB Leipzig star as Mudryk alternative
Chelsea are interested in a transfer for Mykhaylo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk, but it may not be as easy as they would like as competition is stern.
The Blues are hoping to gazump Arsenal to the signing of the Ukrainian winger but may face a few stumbling blocks in the hope of getting a deal done.
The main obstacle will be that of the fee – Shakhtar are demanding a mega price tag for their star talent and that is proving to be difficult.

Now, Chelsea have an alternative in mind: Spain star Dani Olmo, who is currently on the books of German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
Chelsea want Olmo as alternative
Olmo has had a positive rise in the game for the last few years having made a name for himself at Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia, with his career starting out at Barcelona’s famed La Masia.
Since then, he moved to Leipzig where he has got even better and was even part of the Spain side under Luis Enrique that travelled to Qatar for the World Cup.

He has become a permanent fixture in his national team’s set-up and that has prompted further interest in him with several clubs tracking his progress in Germany.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are looking at him as an option for a transfer in case they are unable to land Mudryk in January as they look to strengthen their attacking line.
About #Olmo #Eberl says: „We want to extend Dani's contract, that‘s clear. He has made an outstanding development here. His performances are causing a sensation. I'm positive and optimistic that we'll be able to work something out.“ @SkySportDE 🇪🇸 https://t.co/g7nDleNxQR

Olmo can play on the wings and as a false nine and that is a profile Graham Potter likes and is looking to have in his side heading into the second half of the season.
Chelsea have stuttered in attack this season and there is a belief it can be fixed with signings in the future, and that is exactly what they are looking to do.
It’s unclear how much he will cost, but given new Technical Director Christopher Vivell’s relationship with Leipzig, it’s believed a deal can be agreed upon and Chelsea can get their man for a reasonable fee.
