In Mykhaylo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile and Andrey Santos, Chelsea are responsible for three of the 10 most expensive signing so far in the winter transfer window, but the Blues haven't been alone in flashing the cash.

Todd Boehly has spent €470 million on player transfers since succeeding Roman Abramovich as Chelsea owner last May, with his latest acquisition - Mudryk - setting the Blues back an initial €70m with €30m to follow in add-ons.

Arsenal were in the race for Mudryk until the last, but his move to Stamford Bridge wasn't the only hijack of the January transfer window, with Cody Gakpo joining Liverpool instead of Manchester United on leaving PSV Eindhoven.

United reportedly wanted to loan the Dutchman at first before making his deal permanent next summer, which allowed Liverpool to steal in with a €57m bid, €42m of which was paid up front.

Nine of the top 10 costliest deals so far have involved players moving to the Premier League, but Gerson's €15m move from Marseille to Flamengo manages to cut through that noise, for now.

Two of his Brazilian compatriots have moved to England. As well as Santos arriving at Stamford Bridge, Danilo has joined Nottingham Forest from Palmeiras, in another deal that is likely to frustrate the Gunners, who has scouted him since at least last summer.

As well as Chelsea, Aston Villa feature on the list more than once, the midlands club having paid Chicago Fire €16.6m for Colombia attacker Jhon Duran and Real Betis €13.5m for Spanish left-back Alex Moreno.

Leeds' €40m acquisition of Georginio Rutter represents a gamble - the young French striker is yet to hit double digits for goals in his three Bundesliga seasons with Hoffenheim.

This page will be updated throughout the January window. Please note that listed fees are the total payable to the recipient club, not the initial sum minus add-ons.
