Manchester United are targeting a move for France’s World Cup hero Randal Kolo Muani, but they could face serious competition from Bayern Munich.

The Red Devils are eager to sign a new forward soon with the squad severely depleted in that area as only Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are available in that position.

Cristiano Ronaldo left the club in November after his contract was terminated following an unsanctioned interview with Piers Morgan where he was critical about many elements of the club.

Now, Manchester United have turned their attention to Kolo Muani, the Eintracht Frankfurt forward who starred in cameos for France at the World Cup.

Interest high in Kolo Muani

Kolo Muani had great performances in the World Cup semi-final against Morocco and final against Argentina and his displays were widely praised.

Now, L’Equipe suggest Manchester United want him, with Bayern Munich also interested but they will have to fork out a huge sum to land the player.

It’s suggested that €60 million will be the fee that will be enough to tempt Eintracht Frankfurt into a sale and the two clubs may be interested in making a move at that rate.

Kolo Muani only joined Eintracht Frankfurt last summer from Nantes and there is a belief that he wants to stay at the German club for a while.

It has been suggested that Bayern Munich have opened talks with the player’s representatives but are yet to table an offer, so Manchester United will have to move quickly to get him.

The 24-year-old has scored five goals and provided eight assists so far this season, and will want to carry that good form into the second half of the 2022-23 season.

The Red Devils have also been looking at other options including Marcus Thuram, who also played in the World Cup final against Argentina.
