EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle set to complete £3m Ashby deal
Newcastle are set to complete the signing of talented full back Harrison Ashby from West Ham, Football Transfers can confirm.
The young Scottish defender is set to leave the club after telling the Hammers he wanted to join the Magpies.
Newcastle have been locked in talks with the London side for a couple of weeks, but finally, an agreement has been reached over a £3 million deal plus add-ons.
Newcastle have looked to sign young talent in this window and will now add the 21-year-old to their squad.
Ashby has represented Scotland at under 21 level and has been tipped for the step up to the senior side.
Although the fee is to yet to be disclosed by the clubs, the full agreement is now signed and believed to be around £3m plus add-ons.
Anthony Gordon can be Newcastle's £45m golden boy
Ashby is Newcastle's second addition this month, arriving after New Zealand wonderkid Garang Kuol, whop has since been loaned out to Hearts to gain first-team experience.
Anthony Gordon is also expected to be confirmed as a Newcastle player shortly after completing a medical, moving to Tyneside for £45m from Everton.
The Magpies could also secure another signing before the end of the transfer window and are in the market for a new defensive midfielder.
