RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol has revealed that his favourite Premier League team is Liverpool.

Gvardiol has been linked to several English teams, including Chelsea and Manchester United, but the Merseyside club would be his preference.

''My dream club? That would definitely be Liverpool,'' Gvardiol told RTLDanas. ''Since I was little, I watched a lot of their matches with my dad.''

''We covered every season in detail. It is a club that has remained in my heart.''

Jurgen Klopp's side would love to have one of the world's best defenders in their ranks, but they may not be able to finance a deal.

Leipzig reportedly want up to €100 million for the 20-year-old and the Reds are prioritising a midfielder in this window.

Liverpool's transfer targets

Sofyan Amrabat

Liverpool's interest in Sofyan Amrabat is testament to their midfield predicament.

James Milner and Jordan Henderson are 36 and 32 respectively, while each of Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arthur Melo have been injured this season.

With interest in Jude Bellingham so high, Amrabat - who has six progressive passes per 90 minutes for Fiorentina over the last year - could be an under-the-radar alternative.

Manu Kone

Another, perhaps more under the radar, midfielder in Liverpool's sights is Borussia Monchengladbach man Manu Kone.

The French youngster has completed more dribbles than any other player in his position in the Bundesliga over the last year and is still only rated at €19.2m by Football Transfers' in-house algorithm.

Moises Caicedo

Another player who is fast outgrowing their surroundings is Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Had an impressive World Cup with Ecuador and Man Utd must be wishing they'd pushed through with what would have been a €5m transfer January 2021.

Attracting interest from throughout the Premier League, but Liverpool could offer him the clearest path into their first XI.
