Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with a move for France World Cup star Randal Kolo Muani in the winter transfer window, but his club Eintracht Frankfurt have no intention of letting him leave.

Kolo Muani has had a fine season for Frankfurt since arriving on a free from Nantes last summer, with five goals and 10 assists from just 14 Bundesliga games, and he came to wider prominence after impressing with France at the World Cup, where he scored against Morocco.

Accordingly, Man Utd and Liverpool have both identified the 24-year-old as a potential addition to their attacks - although the Red Devils might now be a more likely suitor now after the Reds beat them to the Netherlands' World Cup star Cody Gakpo.

But admiring glances from United, Liverpool, or anybody else, aren't being welcome by Kolo Muani's current employers.

Kolo Muani not for sale

"We won't sell Kolo Muani," Frankfurt's sporting director Markus Krosche told German sports daily Kicker.

"Markus said it quite clearly," continued the Eagles' head coach Oliver Glasner. "We don't want to lose any top performers. We also have feedback from our players that they want to stay with us.

"Something extraordinary can always happen, but the conditions for us to stay together, which I consider very important, are good."

Frankfurt have a fine track record of squeezing maximum value out of clubs for their players, with attackers Andre Silva, Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller leaving the Deutsche Bank Park for a combined €136m in recent seasons.

Kolo Muani is now rated at €49.9m by Football Transfers' in-house algorithm, and Frankfurt could hold out for as much as twice that figure with the forward under contract with them until June 2027.

Jovic remains their record sale, Real Madrid paying €63m for the Serbia international in the summer of 2019.
