Tottenham Hotspur's recent transfer activity suggests that Harry Kane to Manchester United could be back on.

Kane has long been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, but has thus far remained loyal.

England's first-choice striker and Tottenham's joint-record scorer alongside Jimmy Greaves, Kane's incredible ability in front of goal has yet to garner any silverware, with runners-up finishes in the Champions League and League Cup the most he has to show for his club career, goals aside.

Manchester City were linked with a move for Kane the summer before last, reportedly baulking at Daniel Levy's asking price before waiting a year to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for €60 million instead.

And now it is United who are reportedly pursuing his signature hardest, although Chelsea and Bayern Munich also maintain an interest.

Will Kane become available?

Tottenham's recent transfer activity certainly suggests that they are preparing for life beyond Kane, even if manager Antonio Conte says the club are doing everything they can to deliver the trophies Kane craves, and that "Tottenham is in the player's heart."

Arnaut Danjuma had already undergone an Everton medical before Spurs stole in to sign the Dutch international striker from Villarreal, and they are expected to announce his loan signing in the coming days.

His arrival follows that of Richarlison, who joined from Everton in the summer for €58m but has since found himself in the rather unusual position of being Brazil's first-choice No.9, but being shunted out wide, if used at all, by Spurs.

But the fact remains that in Danjuma and Richarlison, Tottenham have two forwards who have four years on Kane, and although the Englishman remains world class, and coveted by Tottenham, now might be the time to test them.

City might not have been willing to cough up the £127m (€150m) Levy wanted for Kane a yearp-and-a-half ago, but if United get close to that number for a player now rated at €89.8m by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, Spurs at least have his successors on the books already.

Whether United can then deliver those titles is another question, but few strikers would help them to that end better than Kane.
