That is according to Tuttosport, which reports that Chelsea have now pulled out of the running after the January signing of Malo Gusto from Lyon.

Arsenal are looking for a new right-back this summer as Ben White is not a natural in the position and Takehiro Tomiyasu has dipped in recent months, as illustrated by his recent performance against Man City.

Man Utd have also made the signing of a new starting right-back one of their priorities for the summer transfer window.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will leave in the summer if a new club can be found for him, while Diogo Dalot’s future is in doubt due to his expiring contract in 2024.

Erik ten Hag is understood to be a big fan of Dumfries.

Dumfries has made it clear that he would like to move to the Premier League.

Inter are asking for a transfer fee of at least €50 million in order to sell Dumfries.

Dumfries was one of the best right wing-backs at the recent 2022 World Cup, playing a key role in Holland’s journey to the quarter-finals where they only went out on penalties to Argentina.

The 26-year-old scored one goal and grabbed two assists and was a constant force up and down the right flank in Louis van Gaal’s team.

Dumfries at Inter

Dumfries joined Inter from PSV in the summer of 2021 after a successful Euro 2020 and enjoyed an excellent first season at the club.

He scored five goals and provided six assists for the Nerazzurri as they won two trophies and finished second in Serie A.

This term has been more difficult for Dumfries, who has not been a first-team player in recent months.

Inter need to sacrifice at least one valuable player for financial reasons this summer.

They need to make a transfer profit of €60m by the end of the financial year on June 30, and Dumfries is one of the few players who can raise the cash required to reach that amount.
