Chelsea manager Graham Potter continues to find his job under pressure following a 1-1 draw at West Ham on Saturday.

The former Brighton boss took over from Thomas Tuchel in September but has been unable to find a winning formula at Stamford Bridge, despite lavish investment in his squad.

Two January arrivals in the form of Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix combined to give the Blues the lead away from home on Saturday, but it was Emerson, a former Chelsea player, who levelled.

The result leaves Potter’s men ninth in the standings, 10 points off the Champions League places and on a run of three successive draws in the league.

Given the money spent by Chelsea this season, such a position is embarrassing, and Potter’s position is already being called into question just six months after he arrived.

Not good enough - Terry

Chelsea legend John Terry has only heaped the pressure on the first-team manager with comments made on Instagram.

He was asked if he had a role to play in the manager being appointed and replied: “Absolutely not. I tweeted that I loved watching Brighton play and his style of play.

“I have nothing to do with the first team. I'm working with the [Under] 18s and 21s and love my role.

“Clearly results are not good enough and we need to get a settled team.”

Potter’s next challenge comes in the Champions League, in which Chelsea travel to face Dortmund in the last-16 stage. An early European exit would only serve to leave his position even more vulnerable given that winning the competition looks the club’s most viable route back into the competition this season.

Equally, adverse results against Southampton and Tottenham in looming league matches would test Chelsea’s resolve with Potter.
