Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk during the January transfer window for a fee that will reach €100 million.

But the winger has endured a very tough start to his career at Chelsea, contributing no goals or assists in his first five games.

What is more, he has performed very poorly during these matches with his passing, dribbling and his basic first touch not up to scratch.

This was apparent once again when he came off the bench for the final 26 minutes on Saturday in the 1-0 home defeat to bottom of the league Southampton.

Chelsea successfully hijacked Arsenal’s deal to sign Mudryk last month.

Mudryk had long been expected to join Arsenal, but were gazumped by a €100m offer from Chelsea.

Mudryk signed an eight and a half year contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2031, with the Blues offering the player a much higher salary than Arsenal also.

Many Arsenal fans now believe they dodged a bullet, with the Ukrainian being mocked mercilessly by supporters of all clubs on social media.
