The Blues have had a torrid campaign with Graham Potter, with a Champions League spot looking more and more out of sight, with the side in ninth spot and 10 points off fourth.

There have been dubious rumours around the possibility of Guardiola not staying on at Man City - owing to the recent probe by the league and the comments he made last year when his side’s financial affairs were also in headlines.

The Spaniard said when his club had fallen under the spotlight over Financial Fair Play regulations: “‘If they lie [the club] to me, the day after I am not here. I will be out, and I will not be their friend anymore. I put my faith in them because I believe them 100% from day one and I defend the club because of that.”

It was revealed on Monday that the Premier League has charged Man City with over 100 alleged breaches of financial regulations after a four-year investigation. If found guilty, the side may find themselves with some hefty reprisals, such as fines, points deductions, transfer bans, or relegation.

Some Chelsea fans feel this could pave the way for Guardiola to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

Pep Guardiola to Chelsea?

The Guardian reported recently that Potter would be given time at Chelsea. The club want to see how he does with a full pre-season with the squad. During the January window, Jorginho left for Arsenal while Hakim Ziyech’s Paris Saint-Germain move collapsed, though he’s likely to leave in the summer.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Christian Pulisic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mateo Kovacic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will also be allowed to leave if suitable offers arrive.
