Chelsea’s lavish transfer activity has seemingly put off Jude Bellingham to make any potential move there.

The England international is touted for a transfer away from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, with some of the biggest clubs in the world interested.

The likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea, have all been linked with an approach for the 19-year-old. But a tweet from Patrick Berger from Sport1 suggests that the Blues will come up short if they did make a proposal.

Following what appeared to be an incorrect aggregation from a Chelsea account, the reporter clarified with a tweet. He wrote: “@CFCPys @bvbnewsblog I’ve never said Bellingham turned down a concrete Chelsea offer. I just said that #CFC (with PSG) is not interesting for him regarding a summer transfer. Jude and his camp are a bit confused about the transfer strategy of the Blues and other crazy things happening there.”

It seems that Chelsea’s approach to the window has made Bellingham think twice about heading to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's spending spree

Chelsea's January spending alone amounted to £323m - which is more than the combined outlay by clubs in Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

Their single biggest signing was the £106.8m move of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica on deadline day. It is now the British-record, beating Jack Grealish’s £100m move from Aston Villa to Manchester City in the summer of 2021.

They also managed to secure £88m capture of Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk from Asrenal’s nose from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Blues also brought in Joao Felix on a six-month loan deal from Atletico Madrid for £10m.

Benoit Badiashile arrived from Monaco for £35m and Noni Madueke moved in a £29m deal from PSV Eindhoven.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos set Chelsea cost £18m from Vasco de Gama, and David Datro Fofana cost them £8m from Molde.

Lyon’s fullback Malo Gusto arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £26m deal - though he will not arrive until the end of the season.
